RATES OF WATER FEES AND CHARGES
Water
Tax is levied from W/S Consumers in Nagaland State in accordance with the
Nagaland W/S Consumers Rules 1998 and according to rates revised from time
to time in the State. Vital information’s pertaining to water
tax are highlighted as follows:

2. Temporary
Connection :
a) Temporary w/s connection shall be allowed for special occasions such
as marriages, exhibitions etc for a limited period.
b) Necessary deposit of the estimated connection charges shall have to be
made in advance by the applicant. Water meter
rent as per normal
rate shall have to be paid and w/s tax shall have to be paid at
the following rates at the time of removing the temporary connections.
(i) Between 1 –5 days
Rs. 20/- per 1000 litres.
(ii) Between 6 –30 days
Rs. 30/-
per 1000 litres.
3.
Water quality :
The
Department shall ensure that the water supplied for domestic purposes is
wholesome and acceptable as per the
WHO standards physically, chemically and bacteriologic ally

Complaints :
All
complaints pertaining to water tax should
be addressed to the Sub –Divisional Officer
concerned. An appeal against his order may be made to the Superintending
Engineer concerned .
